“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.”
Genesis 1:1–2 · KJV
Before anything had a name, before light divided from darkness, there was formlessness — and God was already present in it. The Hebrew word for 'moved' is the same word used for a bird hovering over its nest. Not distant. Not waiting. Actively brooding over what had not yet become. This is where your journey begins: not when things are ordered, but before.
Read it slowly. Then read it again. Notice which word or image stays with you — 'void,' 'darkness,' 'moved,' 'beginning.'
